This event brings together high school students from across Canada who have shown leadership in their local communities in their efforts to promote bilingualism and biculturalism. They come together as ambassadors of their local communities. These students spend four days living together in one of the provincial capitals. Here, they learn and grow through workshops, mentoring, corporate orientation and cultural events. These young leaders will then go back to their home towns as ambassadors of linguistic duality, motivating other students to continue to pursue the goal of bilingualism.
In 2008, the NAYF was held in Toronto from the 9th to 12th of February. Once again, French for the Future/Le français pour l’avenir is very grateful to Glendon College, York University, one of Canada’s renowned bilingual universities, who offered its facilities and accommodation to our ambassadors.
A very special thanks goes to Canadian Heritage for the financial support they have once again provided for the National Ambassador Youth Forum, as well as all other upcoming French for the Future/Le français pour l’avenir events in the 2008 year.
